CLO 2

Develop strategies for reading, drafting, collaborating, revising, and editing.

Course Learning Outcome 2 was my strategy that I used throughout the entire semester and I will keep using it as my personal writing strategy. It is very helpful during the writing process and it makes me achieve even higher goals than I expected.

I met the CLO 2 by reading all the sources that I chose for my topic of expository and argumentative essays. While reading chosen sources I kept doing notes for myself to remember the main focus of the works. I have never used the drafting strategy before and it made the entire process so natural and easy.

As an example of CLO 2: collaborating and revising, below you can see few posts I made as my own opinion on my peer’s intro and conclusion paragraphs:

EXAMPLE 1

Ewelina Randall RE: Casino Gambling Intro/Conclusion Samples

Andre,

I love the first sentence, it’s a great choice because that’s something everyone is interested in (who doesn’t want to become a millionaire) so it catches everyone’s attention.

I also like the question you asked in the conclusion and I have to agree with Priya- maybe asking a question in the intro would be a great idea as well?

EXAMPLE 2

Ewelina Randall RE: Intro and Conclusion

Priya,

I like how you pointed out “American” life. I think consumerism has bigger impact on people in America than for example in eastern Europe (mainly due to their budget and earnings).  You explained what consumerism is very well and I can’t wait to read more about this topic.

Conclusion- I couldn’t agree with you more. I also believe that being comfortable in one’s own skin is the key to everything and it’s very important part of our lives. It’s a beautiful conclusion and also an advice for every reader.

Another example of the CLO 2 are my drafts of literacy narrative and expository essay :
